The concept of Value
All the collected data which is in fact rubbish remains what it is: Rubbish. The space (in this context the art event Wormhole Saloon at Whitechapel Gallery) changes in relation to natural environment of the rubbish (time travelling aspect of the consciousness of items and owners of items / consumption of space). The process of the rubbish transforms it into art. It does not matter what kind of process it goes through. As long as it goes through a process it becomes art. The process in form of discussions about the price of the items transforms it not only into art but also adds financial and social value to the items although the material structure does not change. [zeiTraum] focuses on the process. There is no final product.

Artistic value
Any item receives value such as for example intellectual, financial, social or artistic value by processing it. All the items (data, object), which were collected during the Wormhole Saloon III on The 23rd of June 2006, were analysed, packed up and archived by [zeiTraum].   By doing that the items have turned into art. (object + process = value added object, in this context art). The construction of the installation 'archive' (=process) during the Wormhole Saloon IV on the 1 st of September 2006 transforms the idea of an installation into an art installation. On top of that placing the items, the installation and the performative action of the construction into an art space gives it an official artistic value. The material structure of the object does not need to change. Only the environment into which it is being place changes adding more value or taking it away.

Financial and social value
Discussing the price of the items during the Wormhole Saloon IV adds financial as well as social value to the items (in this context art work) because this is a process taking place over the items between two or more people.

The Quality of Art
This whole talk about value and process talk now leads to the conclusion that there is no such thing as quality of art because it is ONLY a process of transformation. You can question or criticize the quality of the process or its creativity etc but not the product of it, which is a value added object.
